Integrated Biomarker Responses of a Brackish Water Clam to Global Warming Conditions

چکیده
To analyze physiological and biochemical marker responses of brackish water clam Corbicula japonica under global warming conditions, different temperatures (20°C 25°C), salinity (5 20 psu), food availability (0.5 2.0 mg SS ind−1 d−1) levels were tested. Appropriate biomarkers selected based on the sensitivity biomarker responses, condition index (CI), energy reserves, superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase, oxyradical-absorbance capacity, lipid peroxidation (LPO) (p < 0.05), five methods integrated response (IBR) calculated. CI, SOD, LPO employed for IBRI, although four generally IBR. At high temperature (HT), all deleteriously affected. HT significantly affected IBR highest correlation was discovered in IBRI (r = 0.92, p 0.01). The lowest IBRs observed at natural (control 1.14) (HT 2.43) respectively. contribution scores higher HT, demonstrating poor organism health. Based our estimates, three sensitive could detect stress C. conditions. We conclude that method should be used to quantify anthropogenic impacts aquatic organisms, especially japonica.

Responses of terrestrial aridity to global warming
The dryness of terrestrial climate can be measured by the ratio of annual precipitation (P) to potential evapotranspiration (PET), where the latter represents the evaporative demand of the atmosphere, which depends on the surface air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and available energy. This study examines how the terrestrial mean aridity responds to global warming in terms of P/PET...
متن کاملRobust Responses of the Hydrological Cycle to Global Warming
Using the climate change experiments generated for the Fourth Assessment of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, this study examines some aspects of the changes in the hydrological cycle that are robust across the models. These responses include the decrease in convective mass fluxes, the increase in horizontal moisture transport, the associated enhancement of the pattern of evaporati...
متن کاملAn integrated fish-plankton aquaculture system in brackish water.
Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture takes advantage of the mutualism between some detritivorous fish and phytoplankton. The fish recycle nutrients by consuming live (and dead) algae and provide the inorganic carbon to fuel the growth of live algae. In the meanwhile, algae purify the water and generate the oxygen required by fishes. Such mechanism stabilizes the functioning of an artificially r...
متن کاملContrasting responses of Central Asian rock glaciers to global warming
While the responses of Tien Shan glaciers--and glaciers elsewhere--to climatic changes are becoming increasingly well understood, this is less the case for permafrost in general and for rock glaciers in particular. We use a novel approach to describe the climate sensitivity of rock glaciers and to reconstruct periods of high and low rock glacier activity in the Tien Shan since 1895. Using more ...

Do they report to you, “Here we are?” 36Who endowed the heart with wisdom or gave ...
